There are a number of timbers that form the heart of all guitar making- rosewood, mahogany, ebony and spruce being the most important. Supplies of these quality timbers are becoming more and more difficult to obtain.
We strive to buy from responsible suppliers and encourage the use of alternative timbers, also to adopt techniques that avoid waste and make better use of a valuable and in many cases irreplaceable resource.
The conditions in which these timbers are stored and used are crucial to the tone and durability of the finished instruments. Our premises in Penrith are purpose built for guitar making, we control the working environment year round by careful use of heating and dehumidification, resulting in far better conditions than are possible for many makers, even in a dryer climate. We ensure that our instruments are built to suit the needs of players throughout the world.
