John has always enjoyed transcribing welsh music to guitar, and he has a plan for some pieces that he thinks will sound just right with a 9 string. We discussed various body style options, taking account of all the years he had playing a wide neck Oberon, but now transferring to the slimmer Alchemist, so this is a bit of a compromise. We decided on an Oberon body with cutaway, but a slim neck, even after adding the extra strings. John is getting on very well with it, but he is one of the unusual breed who likes a high action, and I’d forgotten how to do that.
