I made this to match a 6 string for the same customer. I’ve come to the conclusion that 12 string guitars simply do not need to be 14 fret designs. 12 frets is fine, in fact I think I might try 10 frets before long, on a large body that would put the bridge right where it should be. Watch this space.
It's is a privilege to work with wood as beautiful as this. I love the smell of "Dalbergia Nigra"- sort of a cross between smoked bacon and dry hay. I suppose its right that something like this should be in short supply and regulated. No guitar maker would want to be the one to chop down the very last tree.
