Gordon first met Roger Bucknall in 1971, and immediately fell in love with the guitars he was making. Gordon influenced Roger to found Fylde Guitars in 1973. Since then, Fylde has grown to become one of the world's most respected guitar makers, supplying professional artists in all areas of music.
Gordon has used Fylde guitars in much of his work since that first meeting, and the wealth of experience that he and Roger have between them has brought about the development of the Gordon Giltrap Signature Guitar.
Development started with the very successful Fylde Alchemist, a guitar that Gordon took to immediately, and soon he and Roger were discussing a dedicated signature model incorporating Gordon's specific requirements.
Rosewood and Spruce are the classic choice for acoustic guitars, and the details of Walnut binding, marquetry purfling and laminated neck make this a particularly beautiful instrument. The extra wide fingerboard and sculpted truss rod cover are ideal for Gordon's style of playing and his trade-mark string bending.
Gordon feels its one of the best guitars he has ever played, saying "Its been 30 years since I was first involved with Fylde and its great to be back".
